Locally Made. Naturally Grown. Soil That Works!

Hi there! We’re Worm Crafted Gardens a small, veteran-owned business rooted in Morgan County, Indiana.
Founded by Chris Mosier, our story began with a deep love for growing food and connecting with the land. Chris has been passionate about farming since childhood. Whether it was tending to backyard plants with mom and dad, spending time with animals, or diving into the rich history of how early pioneers used the land to sustain their families. That inspiration grew into a dream that’s now becoming a reality.
What began as a tiny backyard container garden has grown into nearly a quarter-acre filled with fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown using natural and organic practices. Along the way, Chris discovered the power of worm composting, and the incredible role that worms play in creating healthy, thriving soil.
While he doesn’t yet have the pigs and ducks he dreams of (talk to his wife ), he does have a thriving worm farm and that’s where the magic happens. Worms are essential players in the soil ecosystem and through vermicomposting (composting with worms) they create worm castings, a nutrient-rich, natural soil amendment that:
• Adds essential nutrients and beneficial microbes
• Improves water retention
• Boosts plant growth without the use of chemicals
His daughter and son will grow up being able to walk into the garden, pick a tomato or pepper, and enjoy it right off the vine without worrying about harmful residues in the soil. That peace of mind is priceless and it’s a gift he wants to share with others in the community.
At Worm Crafted Gardens, we believe in healthy soil, clean food, and reconnecting with the land. We’re here to share the powerful benefits of worm castings and natural soil care with local farmers, gardeners, landscapers, and anyone who values sustainable growing practices.

2026 Markets:

Planting
Before planting seeds or seedlings - evenly spread 1 gallon of castings per 30 sq. ft. of garden area.
Work the castings 2” deep into the garden soil and then thoroughly saturate with water to flush the microorganisms and minerals into the garden soil.
Transplanting Seedlings / Potted Plants
Dig a hole 3 times the size of a potted plant or seedling. Put one large handful of worm castings into the hole. You want to have about 1 inch of castings in the hole.
Fill the remainder of the hole with garden soil that has been mixed with worm castings and water thoroughly.
Mid-Season
In July (northeast U.S.) work more worm castings into the soil around each plant and water thoroughly.
Potting Soil
You can make a potting mix by mixing 3 to 4 parts potting soil to 1 part worm castings. For seedlings use a seedling mix or sift the potting soil to remove large particles first.
House Plants
Work about 1 inch of castings into the top of the soil in the pot. Water thoroughly. Be cautious using castings in plants that require acidic soil or a lot of drainage.
Always Dilute your worm tea
Watering Can - Helps amend soil and longer lasting benefits
Foliar Spray - Fast acting for a quick boost

Storing Castings
Store in a cool area, away from sunlight, where the castings won’t freeze. Make sure to crack the lid on the container so the castings can breathe. Check occasionally and spritz with water if the top drys out. Stored castings will last for months if maintained properly.
